    Prize cost per sign-up$0.00
    Prize cost per month$0.00

    How the calculator works

Each prize has a chance out of 100 and a cost to you when a winner uses it. For a fixed prize, like free shipping or a free sample, the cost is what it costs you to give. For a percentage off, the cost is that percentage of your average order.

    • Average cost of a used prize adds up each prize's cost weighted by its chance.
    • Prize cost per sign-up multiplies that by the share of winners who use their code, since unused codes cost nothing.
    • Prize cost per month multiplies the cost per sign-up by your expected sign-ups.

    Reading the results

If the cost per sign-up feels high, lower the chance of your most expensive prize first rather than removing it: a rare headline prize keeps the game exciting. Make the most common prize one that's cheap for you and still feels like a win. Our guides to setting spin wheel odds shoppers can trust and prize ideas that protect your margins go further.

    Questions

    Spin wheel odds, answered

How do you work out spin wheel odds?

Give each prize a chance out of 100, so all the chances add up to 100. A prize with a 30% chance comes up about 30 times in every 100 spins over time. The size of a slice on the wheel doesn't have to match its chance; the chance is set separately.

Do the chances have to add up to 100%?

They should. When they total 100%, every spin lands on one of your prizes. If they add up to less, some spins would have no prize to land on; if they add up to more, the numbers you see aren't the real chances.

How much does a spin-to-win pop-up cost in prizes?

Multiply each prize's chance by what it costs you when it's used, add those up, then multiply by the share of winners who actually use their code. That gives the average prize cost per sign-up. Your store's coupon reports show the real share of codes used.

Can a slice on the wheel never win?

In Spin Wheel, a decoy slice such as "Spin again" can sit on the wheel for fun with a 0% chance, so it's never landed on and every spin wins one of your prizes. The draw happens on our servers using the chances you set.
